The name “Los Primeros” (Spanish for “The First Ones”) was used to market the 2017 artist capsule, which included the Air Max 1, Air Force 1, Cortez, and Jordan 1. Meanwhile, the nickname “Nomad” has become commonly used by collectors and retailers, referencing the sneaker’s core design inspiration: the Selk’nam (Ona), a nomadic indigenous group from Patagonia, South America.

For this pair, Nike partnered with Wasafu, a Chilean street artist known for his symbolic geometric visual language. His patterns reference the identity and culture of nomadic people, rendered in layered greys across the overlays of the shoe.

Design-wise, the sneaker features a white leather and mesh base, neutral grey graphic overlays, and a striking pinstriped University Red mudguard and Swoosh. The artwork is subtle but powerful, expressing movement, tradition, and heritage. A semi-translucent rubber outsole reveals hidden graphic detailing beneath — enhancing the visual storytelling.
